LaSaine Family House, 16 Kracke Street House, Charleston, SC.
Mary F.Lasaine Finley and her son Reginald Finley Sr took a trip to Charleston, South Carolina. We found Mary Aice Lasaine's old house off an "umarked" Kracke Street. We spoke to some locals (Mr. Butler, Singleton) that actually remembered Mary Alice Lasaine. I was given permission by the current home renter to take a pic of the home.
Local Residents remember that Ms. Murray was her neighbor and good friend. Many educators lived on Krackie Street. A Principal, Mr. Jenkins, lived across the street from Mary Alice and Thomas. A Library opened up called, "Darts Hall" next to the principals house.
The Kracke street house caught fire and that fire claimed two lives. John Thomas' sister and another unnamed person so the neighbor's say. Thomas Alonzo Sr worked on repairing the house for the next 6 months. The LaSaines lived next door with Emilie Murray until the house was repaired.
* Recently discovered that a Edward LaSaine lived in the home in the 1940s. Viola Stewart LaSaine reported that he was half-brothers with Thomas LaSaine Sr, who lived there as well. The death certificate shows that Thomas LaSaine was their father, but they had different mothers. Ellen Key and Matilda Jones (Valentine/Vinson).
