July 24, 1940 -- April 6, 2004

SIBLEY -- Services for Frank Earl Jones, 63, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at VA Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Sibley with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Jones was born July 24, 1940, in Adams County, the son of James and Janice Jones.

He was a Sadie V. Thompson High School graduate, a self-employed contractor and was retired from the U.S. Army and U.S. National Guard.

He was a deacon at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and former deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church of Temple, Texas.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosetta Woods.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie A. Jones of Atlanta; two daughters, Karen J. (Ronald) Green and Caroline J. (Charles) Washington, all of Natchez; two sons, Gerald E. (Ann) Jones of Fayette and Frederick Kirkland of Temple; two brothers, Willie (Joanette) Jones and Albert (Juanita) Jones of Natchez; one sister, Jessie (George) Murphy of Kansas City, Mo.; three aunts, Hattie (Gabriel) Barnes, Mary L. Williams and Sarah Broadway; one brother-in-law, Moses Woods Sr.; eight grandchildren, Kendra Jones, Katiece and Kayla Harris and Chakeria Screws, all of Natchez, Latrice Conner of Hattiesburg, Lekeisha Washington of Houston, Eddie Washington III of Jackson and Andrea Hernandez of Temple; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
