Larry Gooden

July 19, 1963 - July 4, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Larry Gooden, 41, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Greenwood/LeFlore Hospital in Greenwood, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Milford Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Alsworth officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Gooden was born July 19, 1963, in Adams County, the son of Elijah Gooden Sr. and Laura Brady Gooden.

He was a saw mill laborer, was a Baptist and a graduate of North Natchez Class of 1981. He also attended Col-Lin Wesson and Mississippi Valley State.

Mr. Gooden was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Willie Gooden and Levester Gooden.

Survivors include sisters, Doretha Clayton, Ruby Payne, Rosa Ikard, Dora King, Earcine Morgan, Mary Carter, Jessie B. Rice, all of Natchez, Margrette Smith, Flora Robinson and Susie Lester, all of Baton Rouge, La.; brothers, Elijah (Etta) Gooden Jr., Charles Gooden Sr., Terry Gooden, Emanuel (Elvira) Morgan, Robert (Linda) Morgan, all of Natchez, James Albert Hill of Memphis, Tenn. and Johnny Morgan of Hartford, Conn.; five aunts, Daisy Pinder, Mary Hunter, Josie Woods, Bertha Watkins, all of Natchez and Sallie (Robert) Fitzgerald of Chicago, Ill.; two uncles, Lee (Maggie) Brady of Chicago and Sam Brady of Natchez; special friends, Pat Woods and family; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Terry Woods, Timothy Woods, Joey Henry, Charles Harris, Henry Jones and Johnny Cage.
