  Found a 5 year old Mulatto, Amanda Ferguson on the 1880 Census with a black, 78 year old Matilda Ferguson. Amanda is listed as gr. daughter, however, I suspect that she is a great granddaughter. 20 years later we find a 25 year old Mulatto, Amanda Ferguson as the daughter of Turner Ferguson. I suspect this is the same Amanda. So, we have a mystery here. Is Matilda Turner's mother or grandmother. I suspect that Palina is Matilda's daughter and thus Turner's mom. - R.
